Do you remember how you felt the first time your dad handed you the car keys and asked you to start the engine? What about the first time you played Need for Speed and tried drifting? Cars give us enthusiasm and exciting adrenaline rushes. Cars are great, it is no surprise and you cannot but admire them. Even kids like them and from a very young age.
But why though?
Here are five things that we think best sum up our love and affection for cars:
Expression of your personality
A car is more than just a materialistic possession, a status symbol, or means of transportation. Don’t you think?
I mean one could conduct a deep analysis of your personality only through the colour you choose for your car.
Coppery brown? Trendy.
Orange? Unique.
Black? Classic.
The type of car you choose says a lot about you as well. Whether it’s a super-comfortable luxury SUV that glides like open air, or a hot-air hatch for slipping through country lanes, there is no wrong answer.
Even the way you drive says a lot about who you are. Driving with your hands on the wheel at 10:10 or resting on the horn, the way you drive draws certain traits of your character. The behaviour of a person in the cabin of his car gives important insight into their personality.
Comfort and Convenience
Is that the number one reason to own a car? Yeah, probably.
Having a car means you don’t need to use public transport; no sticking to schedules or cramming with 100 other people in the tiniest space on earth. Instead, get into your car that is parked at your front door, drive to your destination, and that’s it. What a wonderful invention, right?
Of course, it’s more expensive to own a car, but trust me, it is very worth your money or else no one would be selling cars or buying them.
The pleasure of driving
One thing about cars is that many people drive not only out of necessity but also for pleasure. Driving is a skill, and like any other skill, some like to practice all the time to get better at it. Whether it’s taking out your convertible on a sunny day for a drive in the countryside, or coming home from work, it’s always fun to drive, wherever and whenever you want.
Many big names in the automobile industry base their advertisements, slogans, and marketing on the pursuit of happiness, a long-standing goal of humans.
BMW slogan in Germany “Freude am Fahren” or in France “le plaisir de conduire” is an actual translation of the phrase “pleasure of driving”
Experience sharing
Cars have multiple seats so that other people can join you on your journey, which is a very good reason. I mean, nothing is better than a road trip with your loved ones. Snacks in the glove compartment, a suitcase in the trunk, music on the stereo. However, just remember that as fun as it sounds to eat on car seats, it might cause a drop in the car value. Besides that, listening to loud music can distract you and increase the risk of getting into accidents.
A feeling of freedom
Everyone likes to be independent, and having a car gives you the flexibility to go wherever you want whenever you want to. It’s not just a matter of convenience, it is a benefit of the modern world to have access to transportation that makes traveling across the country a matter of hours rather than days or longer.
Since it was invented, cars have always been synonymous with freedom. Unlike trains and airplanes, you make the decision when to take off, and how to get to your destination. Cars symbolize self-independence, giving you the free choice to visit places you love no matter how far they are.
Driving is art, and so is your car. Don’t let the sound of your wheels drive you crazy, enjoy the ride and stay safe!
