Affordable Dream Cars

Aston Martin Vantage

For many growing up there will be a handful of cars that you fall head over heels in love with and hope to own one day. Unfortunately, some of these cars are out of reach since for most people Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s and the likes are just too much money. Now though as these cars have depreciated to the point they are actually somewhat affordable so VehicleSmart has rounded up some affordable dream cars. If you do decide to buy one of these cars remember to consider maintenance etc.

Ferrari 360

For a lot of petrolheads the world over, a Ferrari is the ultimate dream, you get plenty of power and stunning Italian styling. Now for £50,000, you can find a Ferrari 360 moderna. £50,000 isn’t exactly cheap but compared to the retail cost of £100,000 there has been a significant drop. These cars are starting to become classics so not only do you get to own a 400hp prancing horse but you could potentially make a profit from your ownership.

Mazda RX-7 (FD)

The RX-7 is undoubtedly a legend in the Japanese car scene. It is also iconic in the eyes of just about any 90s kid who grew up playing need for speed and watching fast and furious. Demand for classic Japanese cars is skyrocketing and so is the price, the RX-7 is a prime example of this. For around £25,000 you can get an imported twin-turbo RX-7 with just 69,000 miles. Not only will the rotary-powered car provide you with endless fun but you’re almost guaranteed to make some money should you decide to sell it, although the maintenance on the rotary engine will probably eat up all your profits.

Nissan GTR

The GTR nameplate is iconic in car history, no matter which generation you think of they are all incredible cars. Now though you can get the supercar killing Nissan GTR for just £35,000 or if you’re lucky sub £30,000. You get a car that can reach over 190mph and reach sixty in under 3.5 seconds, the newest models can do it in sub 3 seconds now.

If you are a lover of car modifications the support for the GTR is immense with some examples being tuned to 700hp very easily. It’s not unheard of for these cars to make over 1000hp and if you’ve got deep pockets and nerves of steel they can actually make over 2000hp.

Audi R8

You can grab a first-generation Audi R8 for less than £30,000, an awful lot of car for the money. It was Audi’s offering against the likes of Mclaren, Ferrari and its sibling Lamborghini. When you buy an Audi you know you are getting quality in every sense of the word. The R8 has incredible performance but also looks and drives like a dream. It might not have the glamour of its Italian rivals but it does very well to outdo them in price and for the purists, you can find a gated manual model for no extra money,
