The Travel Channel has a great new programme: World’s Greatest Motorcycle Rides, by Henry Cole. He makes these rides on a Saxon! He likes the looks of the semi custom bike and more important, the bike drives smoothly and comfortably. US Highway 1, one of the most famous coastal rides in the world, hugs the west coast from San Francisco to Laguna Beach. Its 650 miles length is steeped in American history and iconography. There is adventure and luxury to experience in equal measure and the only way to feel the true sense of freedom and escapism is to ride it not drive it. If there is one route that delivers riding the American dream it has to be Highway 1.

Like its predecessor, the new RR knows no compromise, providing the highest level of sporting character and riding dynamics. The convincing features of the new S 1000 RR are its improved handling with absolute riding stability, supreme engine performance with perfect everyday practicality, and a resounding dynamic performance. The highest level of active safety is safeguarded by the most advanced brake system today on the market, the BMW Motorrad Race ABS. When accelerating, the rider is supported by the Dynamic Traction Control system DTC. Both of these systems have been optimised for the perfect interaction. There have been no changes to the superior engine power of 142 kW (193 hp) with a weight of only 204 kilograms including 90% fuel (206.5 weight with Race ABS). Concept with optimised riding dynamics. One of the primary objectives pursued for the revised S 1000 RR model was to improve ridability by boosting thrust and enhancing the linearity and harmoniousness of the power and torque curves. The reconfigured throttle improves overall response. The new, optimised design raises response sensitivity, tightens the twistgrip angle, and reduces the twisting force. Suspension with improved handling and feedback. The modifications to the new RR suspension have been instrumental in boosting its riding dynamics. For instance, the upside down fork and the spring strut feature a new internal structure, providing an even wider range of damping forces from comfort to performance …

I don’t know if you heard, but Chuck Norris left the fridge door open and we now how 4-5 meters of snow in some places in Romania. That’s just above the regular ground level houses, people started digging tunnels to get out. With just 6 days from my knee operation procedure, I thought I should get out in my yard and make some sort of a path towards my front gate, just in case. But can we do this, biker’s style? Yes we can.
And most importantly, I’m not just shoveling like all my neighbors do. I’m doing it biker’s style. And this makes all the difference.
PS: I didn’t wear my helmet. I know, big mistake.
Many of you saw me crash this Blue Ray Helicopter a few months ago doing a roll too low. Now repaired, I test fly it, then take it to the Sibley Pond to try my hand at Helicopter Fishing again. The (Perch, Sunfish, rock cod Blue Gill) here bite on just about anything at any time, so I hoped to catch something on the first battery. Here you will see what happens in this un-cut attempt to catch another fish just like last year. Bait: Grubs. The Blue Ray helicopter is available from xheli.com and here is the link www.dpbolvw.net For the HELMET comments you all make, I respond. My bike is a ’95 Honda Goldwing. It weights 800 lbs and 1000 with me on it. There are NO helmet laws in IOWA and I chose to not wear it for this 1/2 mile ride. I usually wear a helmet, cause Im a goldwing guy with intercom and like the comfort when it is cold. But for a few blocks with no trucks or traffic, I chose not to were it to make this video, because I dont have to in Iowa. I am a member of the 1 million mile MOTORCYCLE club. This is my 3rd Goldwing and my 22nd motorcycle. Not to worry about crashing, as I am very cautious AND there is no real traffic here, like California (where I put all those miles on mostly) I don’t crash my helicopters much either, unless I do something stupid, and I have learned not to do those stupid things on bikes or Helcopters over the years too. I have been riding for over 50 years now, with no crashes and even have a trike kit for this 6 cylinder Honda. Thanks for …
